Every story has a beginning—and the story of Jesus as King begins with a genealogy, a manger, a baptism, and a wilderness. In this four-part series through Matthew chapters 1–4, we explore how the Gospel writer introduces Jesus not just as a Savior, but as the long-promised King whose arrival redefines everything. From royal lineage and fulfilled prophecy to John the Baptist’s bold announcement and Jesus’ first public call to follow, The Origin of the King invites us to see Jesus as the true and rightful ruler—not only over history, but over our lives. 📖 Whether you're exploring faith or seeking deeper roots, this series helps us rediscover the beauty, authority, and mission of King Jesus.

Before your story began, God's story was already unfolding. The book of Genesis isn't just ancient history — it's the foundation of everything.

Creation.
The Fall.
Murder.
Flood.
Babel.
Sacrifice.

These aren't just dramatic stories; they are God revealing who He is, who we are, and what He intends to do about the mess we've made.In this Lenten series, we trace the opening chapters of Scripture and discover something stunning: every story in Genesis points forward to Jesus. The New Adam. The One who reverses the curse.

The blood that speaks better than Abel's. The Ark of our salvation. The sacrifice God Himself provides on the mountain. We aren't the heroes of these stories. God is.

And that changes everything.Join us at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Missouri as we journey from creation to resurrection, rooted in Christ, growing in faith, and sharing His love.

What does it really mean to follow Jesus—not just believe in Him, not just show up on Sundays, but actually follow Him? In this three-week series, we're exploring the journey of discipleship from invitation to transformation. Following Jesus begins with curiosity, demands everything we have, and transforms us daily. It's not about checking boxes or completing a program—it's about walking in the dust of the Rabbi's feet, learning His ways, and becoming like Him. Week 1: "Come and See" (John 1:35-42) - February 1 Discipleship starts with an invitation. Jesus doesn't demand commitment before relationship—He invites us to come and see for ourselves who He really is. Are you curious enough to actually spend time with Him? Week 2: "Leave Your Nets" (Matthew 4:18-22) - February 8 Following Jesus costs something. The fishermen left their nets—their security, identity, and plans—to follow a man they barely knew. What is Jesus asking you to leave behind? Week 3: "Take Up Your Cross Daily" (Luke 9:23-27) - February 15 Jesus doesn't promise an easy life—He promises a meaningful one. Following Him means daily death to self and daily resurrection to new life. What does it mean to die so we can truly live? Join us as we discover what it means to move from spectator to disciple, from admirer to follower. This Lenten season, we're preparing our hearts for baptism and deeper discipleship. The invitation is simple, but it changes everything: Follow Me.
